2026 JR Kyushu Stationmasters'
Local Curry Contest
A taste of our castle town,

Oka Castle's moon and walls, reimagined on a plate.

Kojo no Tsuki Curry.

A TASTE OF TAKETA
A full moon over
our castle town curry.
Composer Rentaro Taki spent his boyhood in Taketa. The ruins of Oka Castle are known as the inspiration for his celebrated song “Moon over the Ruined Castle.” We have reimagined that view over the castle town on a plate.
The egg is a full moon, the rice a castle wall. Made with 100% Oita Wagyu beef shank, simmered until tender, our curry brings together the deep flavor of caramelized onions and the rich aroma of blended spices.
Mikazuki Coffee Roastery's Kojo no Tsuki Curry is served with raisin butter. Savor a taste of Taketa in the Kyakuyashiki, the town's historic guest residence.
